The 28th  Biennial Hendrik and Christine Dahl Family Reunion was a great success. There are over 2800 descendants up to present day. Over 81 descendants, family members and guests were in attendance. This represents 30% of the known living descendants of the family. It was held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norse on July 20.

Attendees came from both sides of the country. Of course most were local Clifton and near area residents. They enjoyed a wonderful meal catered by Johnny’s Place. No one left hungry.

Walt Lewis of Clifton provided the program by performing his historical portrayal of founding father Cleng Pearson. Many of the attendees learned many new things about this famous Norwegian pioneer. Lewis wore traditional garb of the time and fascinated his audience.

Jon Jorgenson, President of the 28th Biennial Dahl Family Reunion Committee, called the meeting to order and welcomed all of the family members. He recognized Reunion Committee Members Mary Bergman, Bobbye Bekkelund, Doris Dahl, Gailyn Volcansek and the Reverend B. I. Dahl for their service in making the event a success.

Susan Dahl Anderson was elected the President for the 29th Biennial Dahl Family Reunion Committee, which will be held in 2010. Anderson’s mother Doris Dahl still lives in the original home of Hendrik and Christine Dahl. Tours of the home were made available to all visitors.

Fred Volcansek was re-elected secretary/treasurer of the Reunion Committee. New family contact members were nominated by each of the Dahl Family lines. The Ole Dahl Family is represented by Ruth Sebesta, the Syverine Dahl Nelson Family by Jon Jorgenson, the Peder Dahl Family by Linda Knudson Ray, the Helene Dahl Bekkelund Family by Modina Atkins, the Christian Dahl Family by Doris Dahl and the Caroline Dahl Pederson Family by Milton Bergman.
